This type of tournament was created by Party Poker. This is basically a series of single-table tournaments that have a buy-in ever larger. This series of tournaments finishes in winning large cash prizes.
This type of tournament usually consists of five phases. The winners of the first stage gain access to the second stage and can compete for the victory and move to the third round and so on. In general, players can buy chips during each stage of the tournament, but the buy-in increases more and more and becomes much larger than the previous stages. However, only in the final phase of the major prizes are awarded.
For these steps, the first thing to note is the prize. To avoid paying too much, you might want to play in a tournament which follows these characteristics: victory with access to the next step or, in case of defeat, the deletion.
The strategy to use in a tournament is similar to the ones that can be taken in single table tournaments and satellite tournaments. When only 30% of players can win the next stage, then you could play more aggressively. The objective is to steal blinds and to maintain the stack above the average. No need to accumulate all the chips but, nevertheless, you always need to maintain a relatively large stack, in order to avoid being attacked and hunted in advance. By managing to steal the blinds often you will be able to possess a stack above the average.
When you arrive at the final stage should play according to the strategy used in the single table tournaments. With the exception of WSOP tournament, which is a tournament with more steps, during the final stages, they have the classic tournament structure. The winner receives a big prize , but also the players who come second, third or quarters can receive attractive prizes.
